Hyatt has announced plans to debut the Andaz brand in Hong Kong with the signing of a management agreement with Wing Tai Properties Limited and CSI Properties Limited. Scheduled to open in 2027, the Andaz Hong Kong Central will form part of Central Crossing, a high-profile mixed-use development at 118 Wellington Street in the heart of Hong Kong’s Central district.
The Central Crossing project is set to become an iconic destination that integrates premium office spaces, open green areas, and heritage architecture. The addition of the Andaz brand introduces a new dimension of modern hospitality. Andaz Hong Kong Central will offer 125 rooms, including luxurious suites that can double as intimate event spaces.
Conceptualized as a “love letter to Hong Kong,” the hotel’s interiors will celebrate the city’s layered identity. Guests will find contemporary design interwoven with cultural storytelling to create a deep sense of place. The Living Room will serve as the hotel’s social heart. Additional culinary experiences will include an all-day dining restaurant (envisioned as a showcase for Hong Kong’s rich traditions with a modern twist). A fitness center and wellness facilities will both be available to round out the amenities.
As part of the larger Central Crossing development, the property will also unveil the first-ever Andaz Village. This bespoke retail and lifestyle hub will be adjacent to the hotel. The innovative concept will combine wellbeing experiences, artisanal retail, and gourmet offerings to create a destination for locals and travelers alike. Designed to complement the hotel’s spirit of discovery, Andaz Village will feature a collection of global and local boutique brands.
Located at the epicenter of Hong Kong’s business and cultural core, Andaz Hong Kong Central will offer immediate access to the city’s most celebrated destinations, including Tai Kwun, PMQ, and Central Market. The property’s integration with Hong Kong’s central walkway system will ensure seamless connectivity to nearby MTR and Airport Express stations.
Hervé Mazella, Hyatt’s Area Vice President of Luxury for Asia Pacific, will serve as General Manager of Andaz Hong Kong Central, bringing extensive leadership experience from premier Hyatt properties such as Grand Hyatt Hong Kong, Park Hyatt Tokyo, and Andaz Bali.
The launch of Andaz Hong Kong Central reflects Hyatt’s continued commitment to expanding its luxury and lifestyle portfolio across the Asia Pacific region. Other upcoming openings in the region include Andaz Shanghai ITC (late 2025), Andaz One Bangkok (2026), and Andaz Gold Coast (2026), marking the brand’s debut in Australia and the Pacific.
David Udell, Group President of Asia Pacific at Hyatt, said:
We are honored to be part of this landmark project with Wing Tai Properties and CSI Properties in the heart of Central, building on our deep roots in Hong Kong since the opening of Hyatt’s first hotel outside the United States here in 1969. The continued growth of the Andaz brand reflects our focus on intentional expansion in key locations and distinctive experiences for discerning travelers.”
Anthony’s Take: Hong Kong is one of my favorite cities and I’m excited to go back this January. When it opens in 2027, the property will not only mark Hyatt’s first Andaz in Hong Kong but also stand as a flagship destination for the brand in Asia.
