The Luxury Collection, one of my favorite brands in Marriott’s vast hotel portfolio, has officially debuted in Singapore with the opening of The Laurus, a Luxury Collection Resort. It’s located within Resorts World Sentosa (RWS) and marks the brand’s first property in Singapore.
Designed by award-winning firm P49 Deesign, The Laurus draws inspiration from both colonial and tropical influences. The resort features 183 suites, each blending contemporary elegance with local heritage through curated furnishings, regional art, and artisanal refreshments from Singaporean makers. Throughout the property, details reflect cultural authenticity. This includes everything from orchid arrangements to bespoke décor celebrating the Buffy Fish Owl, a native species woven into the hotel’s identity. Artworks from the William Farquhar Collection of Natural History Drawings and contributions from local and international artists enhance the sense of discovery.
Guests are welcomed with sensory rituals, including Voyage Céleste, a signature scent inspired by Sentosa’s coastal environment as well as Asian-inspired culinary touches that highlight Singapore’s rich food heritage. The Laurus offers dining at Laurus Table, which features sustainable regional cuisine developed with a celebrity chef. A full-service spa, a landscaped pool, and a fitness center round out the amenities.
Aligned with RWS’ long-standing sustainability efforts, The Laurus incorporates eco-conscious design and operations. Suites feature smart energy management systems, refillable amenities, filtered water taps, and regionally sourced materials. Wood from trees felled during RWS’ expansion has been repurposed into bespoke functional art pieces, while uniforms and amenities are created by local artisans. The resort is on track to achieve Singapore’s BCA Green Mark Platinum certification for sustainable building practices. Its sensory garden has been landscaped to promote biodiversity while supporting pollinators and native flora.
With The Laurus, The Luxury Collection strengthens its portfolio of destination-inspired hotels while setting new benchmarks for sustainable luxury in Singapore. By combining thoughtful design, cultural storytelling, and eco-conscious practices, the property positions itself as both a refined residence and an immersive gateway to Sentosa.
Bruce Rohr, Vice President and Global Brand Leader of The Luxury Collection, said:
The Laurus, a Luxury Collection Resort, marks a defining chapter in our brand’s journey, introducing an extraordinary new destination where heritage, nature, and luxury converge. Marking The Luxury Collection’s first property in Singapore, The Laurus, a Luxury Collection Resort offers travelers an opportunity to experience the city through a unique lens – one that honors the island’s storied past, celebrates its vibrant landscape, and invites guests into a refined sanctuary that feels deeply personal. The Laurus, a Luxury Collection Resort exemplifies our commitment to distinctive, destination-led hospitality, where each stay becomes a timeless story in the traveler’s collection.”
Anthony’s Take: I have been itching to get back to Hong Kong and Singapore. There are so many new hotels that have opened since I last visited in 2019. I’m hoping 2026 is the year I make it back and this hotel might be a good pick.
