Air Canada is making it nicer to travel in the back of the plane by offering complimentary beer, wine, and Canadian-made snacks to all customers on every flight (including routes to Mexico and the Caribbean). The initiative, first launched on September 1st, underscores the airline’s focus on enhancing service for leisure travelers while maintaining its award-winning hospitality standards.

Air Canada Snacks

The refreshed menu introduces new snacks tailored to different flight times:

  • Morning Flights (before 10:00 AM): Passengers can enjoy MadeGood Mornings Cinnamon Bun Soft Baked Oat Bars, alongside favorites like TWIGZ Craft Pretzels and Leclerc’s Celebration Cookies.
  • Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport (YTZ) Flights (after 10:30 AM): Complimentary Greenhouse Ginger Defense Wellness Shots are now included, bringing an organic, plant-based boost to the inflight experience.
  • Bistro Menu Expansion: Air Canada Bistro now features more Canadian-made items, including Summer Fresh Hummus & Crackers, Quaker Maple & Brown Sugar Oatmeal Cups, TWIGZ Sour Cream & Onion Pretzels, and Smarties.
  • New Beverage Offering: The airline is the first in North America to serve Heineken 0.0, a non-alcoholic beer, available alongside its complimentary beer and wine service.

These upgrades build on Air Canada’s broader strategy to improve customer comfort and convenience across the travel journey. Recent investments include:

  • A revamped mobile app for easier booking and travel management.
  • Expanded in-flight entertainment.
  • Refurbished and newly opened Maple Leaf Lounges.
  • Improved airport processes to streamline check-in and boarding.
  • The Aeroplan loyalty program, which continues to be recognized as one of the best in class.
  • Fast, free Wi-Fi sponsored by Bell (available to Aeroplan Members on flights across North America and Sun destinations in Mexico and the Caribbean).

Scott O’Leary, Vice President, Loyalty & Product at Air Canada, said:

As part of our commitment to elevating the onboard experience, we’re delighted to introduce even more exciting new options to our menus. These upgrades offer something for everyone and proudly showcase Canadian brands so that our customers can sit back, relax and kick-start their travels no matter where they’re going.”

Anthony’s Take: With these enhancements, Air Canada continues to blend its Canadian identity with global standards of service. The new offerings make Economy travel more enjoyable and help to meet the evolving expectations of passengers.
