United added “Signature Dishes” from its hubs in 2024. I have tasted many of them and I’m happy to see that they have started to rotate in some new choices. I’ve shared my reviews of other meals including Los Angeles (here), Washington DC (here), Houston (here), Newark (here and here), Denver (here) and Chicago (here and here). Today, while flying from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) to Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) I got to try the new Los Angeles Signature Dish: Korean BBQ Glazed Short Rib.

Los Angeles Korean BBQ

The Korean BBQ Glazed Short Rib is available only as a preorder. It’s described as short rib with kimchi fried rice and sesame spinach. I loved the Crab Cakes out of Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) (review here), but the Korean BBQ Glazed Short Rib might be my new favorite.

The dish had perhaps the most spice of anything United has ever served and I loved it. It wasn’t killer spicy, but it had flavor. The rice and spinach were also quite good. The tray came with a green salad, a white bread roll, and Magnolia Bakery’s Red Velvet Pudding.

I’ve said it before, Magnolia Bakery’s Red Velvet Pudding is too sweet and nowhere nearly as good as the original. I hope United switches back to the original soon.

Anthony’s Take: This is one of my favorite meals ever on United and that includes in Polaris®. The flavors were great and I’d gladly eat this again.
