UA Gate Agent Punched

There is not much context as to what started this assault on a United Airlines gate agent. It looks like a flight is deplaning at Gate D12 in Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) when an angry man confronts a gate agent and punches him in the face. The gate agent goes down and the video cuts out.

The man is heard saying “who wants it first?” before striking the gate agent. Gary at View from the Wing shared this first and reports that the gate agent was taken from the gate in a stretcher and hospitalized. Christopher Stuart Crittenden, 54, of Frederick, MD has been identified as the passenger who struck the gate agent in the video. He now faces assault and disorderly conduct charges as well as a ban from United Airlines.

Anthony’s Take: Regardless of what set this man off, he is completely in the wrong and I hope that United bans him and presses charges. The gate agent is simply doing his job and should not face violence. Hopefully, justice gets served here and this man ends up with a severe punishment.
