I’ve stayed at the W Austin several times and it has always been a solid property. The hotel just completed a multi-million-dollar transformation that reimagined the design, guest room decor, and dining options.
The W Austin offers 251 guest rooms (including 32 suites). The rooms have been redesigned with textures and bold colors that capture Austin’s live music scene and the beauty of the city’s natural surroundings. Deep shades of green and natural materials like hardwood floors evoke nearby Lady Bird Lake and its tree-lined shores. Premium amenities like Nespresso machines, Marshall Bluetooth speakers, Frette robes, and Davines bath products take the guest experience to another level.
Four of the 32 premium suites have two bedrooms and bathrooms in addition to the separate living rooms. Penthouse I is the largest suite in downtown Austin and it offers panoramic views of Lady Bird Lake and the Austin skyline, a marble-clad bathroom with large soaking tub, a wet bar, and a separate service entrance.
The W Austin is introducing Serenade American Brasserie (the restaurant blends Texas flavors with classic brasserie techniques), 2nd & Roast coffee shop (features coffee and espresso from local Austin roaster, Medici), Blue Room (an exclusive by-reservation cocktail bar), and a reimagined Living Room as part of its transformation. As in other W Hotels, the Living Room is more than a hotel lobby. The renovation includes a beautiful gold bar inspired by a trumpet. The space will feature performances by Austin’s emerging and established musicians who are selected by the hotel’s Music Curator.
George Fleck, Senior Vice President and Brand Leader at W Hotels, said:
W Austin embodies our signature, unconventional approach to luxury, offering an experience as vibrant as the city itself. Known as the ‘Live Music Capital of the World,’ Austin has long been a pinnacle in the music scene, and W Austin captures that energy, mirroring our brand’s shared passion for music and celebrating both emerging and established artists.”
Anthony’s Take: I love that the W brand is growing up and as hotels are being renovated that they are moving away from the 90s club vibe to more of an elegant and modern space where I love staying. The W Austin looks gorgeous and I can’t wait to check it out in person.
