Japan Airlines has announced its summer 2025 schedule and it’s bringing back flights between Tokyo Narita Airport (NRT) and Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD) on May 31st. The airline currently flies to/from Tokyo Haneda Airport (HND) and will continue to operate this route.

In addition to restarting the route listed above, Japan Airlines is increasing frequency on two US routes. Flights between Osaka’s Kansai International Airport (KIX) and Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) from 5x to 7x weekly starting on July 18th. The Tokyo Narita Airport (NRT) to San Diego International Airport  (SAN) route will also see an increase from 4x to 7x starting on March 30th.

The flights to/from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) will be flown with Airbus A350-1000 aircraft. These offer six First Class, 54 Business Class, 24 Premium Economy, and 155 Economy Class seats. The route will run until October 25th.

Honolulu’s Daniel K. Inouye International Airport (HNL) will see seasonal increases to the schedule on three routes. Flights to Osaka’s Kansai International Airport (KIX) and Nagoya’s Chubu Centrair International Airport (NGO) will be bumped up to daily between July 18th and October 25th while flights to Tokyo Narita Airport (NRT) will see 2x daily flights between July 1st and July 31st.

Anthony’s Take: Japan is a hot travel destination for 2025 and Japan Airlines is capitalizing on demand by bringing back Chicago flights to Tokyo Narita Airport (NRT) and bumping up frequency on other US routes.
