Alaska Airlines announced today that it’s adding three new routes from Oregon. All three flights debut on May 15th and run at least daily, year round.
The three additions include one brand new option and two resumptions. These include:
- Rogue Valley International-Medford Airport (MFR) to/from San Diego International Airport (SAN) (daily)
- Portland International Airport (PDX) to/from Eugene Airport (EUG) (2x daily)
- Portland International Airport (PDX) to/from Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) (daily)
Portland is a key West Coast hubs for Alaska Airlines. It offers more than 100 average daily departures serving 58 nonstop destinations (including four international routes).
Kirsten Amrine, Vice President of Network Planning and Revenue Management at Alaska Airlines, said:
We’re based in Seattle, but Portland is a second home for us where we’ve been the largest carrier for more than 20 years. Our new flights out of Portland, Eugene and Medford show our continued focus on connecting Oregon with the rest of the country.”
The new flights will be flown on a Boeing 737-900 for the Houston route and Embraer E175 aircraft for the other two. These offer 16 First Class, 24 Premium, and 138 Economy Class seats on the Boeing 737-900 and 12 First Class, 12 Premium, and 52 Economy Class seats on the Embraer E175.
Anthony’s Take: Alaska has been busy the past few months with integrating Hawaiian Airlines and launching new routes. It’s always good to see past flight options resume and new lines added to the map.
