Loganair is the UK’s largest regional airline and based in Scotland. Today, it announced that it is the seventh airline to join the Avios network.

Loganair Route Map

The Scottish regional airline has a fleet of 32 aircraft Embraer ERJ-145 and Britten-Norman Islander aircraft. Currently, Loganair flies more than 1.5 million passengers annually across nearly 70 routes. It provides lifeline services to some of Scotland’s remote communities and connects regional hubs like Aberdeen International Airport (ABZ), Edinburgh Airport (EDI), Glasgow Airport (GLA), Inverness Airport (INV), London Heathrow Airport (LHR), and Newcastle International Airport (NCL).

The carrier is being consolidated into using Avios as its currency for earning points and redemptions. Loganair passengers will be part of the Avios network alongside British Airways, Iberia, Aer Lingus, Vueling, Qatar Airways, and Finnair. It will maintain its Clan Loganair loyalty program (only the points are changing). The conversion to Avios points will happen now. Members will soon be able to transfer Avios to/from Loganair and British Airways on a 1:1 basis.

Adopting Avios will bring passengers enhanced benefits and redemption options. It also reinforces Loganair’s strong partnership and codeshare with British Airways.

Luke Lovegrove, Chief Commercial Officer at Loganair, said:

We strive to offer our customers added value at every stage of their journey, and partnering with IAG Loyalty to adopt Avios as the currency of our Clan program is a significant development that will open up a world of new benefits for our customers. We’re excited to bring these changes to life in 2025 and look forward to welcoming both Clan and Avios members onboard.”

Veronica Vicars, IAG’s Chief Growth Officer, added:

We’re thrilled to welcome Loganair as the newest member of our Avios family, marking a significant milestone as our seventh airline partner. With Loganair’s addition, we’re now able to offer customers even greater opportunities to earn and redeem Avios across their important domestic network in the UK and beyond, providing greater choice and value. This is yet another step towards achieving our ambition to make Avios the most flexible and widely accepted travel loyalty currency globally.”

Anthony’s Take: The addition of Loganair to the Avios network opens up opportunities to redeem points for flights to smaller cities throughout the UK. This will be welcome news for many.
