Delta Air Lines adds flights every year for The Consumer Electronics Show (CES). This annual trade show held by the Consumer Technology Association (from January 7th to 10th in 2025) at the Las Vegas Convention Center showcases all of the latest consumer technology. I attended for many years and it’s great to be able to see what technology, gadgets, and innovations are coming next. Airlines generally add nonstop flights for the show and some of those routes are already starting to pop up. Additionally, Delta will deliver a keynote around its “legacy of innovation over the past century” and its vision for the future in the Sphere.
In July, I wrote about American Airlines connecting London Heathrow Airport (LHR) and Tokyo Narita International Airport (NRT) to Las Vegas (more here). Delta Air Lines is also adding a few nonstop flights during this huge trade show. Nonstop CES flights to/from Las Vegas Harry Reid International Airport (LAS) include:
- Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) (1x daily; January 5th and 6th to Las Vegas and January 5th, 9th, and 10th return)
- Miami International Airport (MIA) (1x daily; January 5th and 6th to Las Vegas and January 9th and 10th return)
- Orlando International Airport (MCO) (1x daily; January 5th and 6th to Las Vegas and January 9th and 10th return)
- San Jose Mineta International Airport (SJC) (1x daily; January 5th and 6th to Las Vegas and January 9th and 10th return)
These flights will be operated by a Boeing 757 with 20 First Class, 29 Comfort+, and 150 Main Cabin seats.
Delta is also adding a single flight in each direction to/from Las Vegas Harry Reid International Airport (LAS) and London Heathrow Airport (LHR) on January 6th and 10th. Delta will fly from Amsterdam Airport Schiphol (AMS) on January 4th, 5th, and 6th with return flights on the 10th and 11th. French visitors will see flights to/from Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG) on January 5th and 6th (with returns on the 10th and 11th). This is in addition to service provided by Air France, KLM, and Virgin Atlantic. Delta will also operate flights to/from Seoul Incheon International Airport (ICN) on January 5th and 6th (with return flights on January 10th and 11th).
On January 7th, Delta will share its vision for the future of travel and will deliver the first CES keynote ever hosted at Sphere. Delta will use the venue’s next-generation technologies including: its globally-recognized exterior (the “Exosphere,” which is the world’s largest LED screen) the interior display plane (the world’s highest-resolution LED screen), and the world’s most advanced audio system (Sphere Immersive Sound powered by HOLOPLOT) to discuss what’s coming in the next 100 years.
Delta CEO, Ed Bastian, said of the keynote:
Technology is a powerful tool, but it’s people that make true innovation possible. We’re on the brink of a new era, and I can’t think of a better way to demonstrate how the Delta team will leverage cutting-edge advancements to propel our next century of flight.”
Anthony’s Take: CES was a big part of my life for almost 20 years. I miss the show and all of the new gadgets. I know I’ll be back again in the future (2025 doesn’t seem likely, but who knows?). I’ll keep an eye out for other announcements from airlines connecting attendees from across the country and around the world with nonstop flights.
