Earlier this month, I wrote about how Global Entry was increasing its cost from $100 to $120. This is the first increase in 15 years. Citi was the first credit card issuer to increase its benefit to match the new cost. Now Chase is going to also increase the value of this benefit starting in October.

Many credit card issuers offer Global Entry fee reimbursement as a benefit on premium cards (usable once every four or five years). Citi has already made its move and now Chase will increase the reimbursement amount on the following cards:

  • Chase Sapphire Reserve®
  • United℠ Explorer Card
  • United Club℠ Infinite Card
  • United Quest℠ Card
  • IHG One Rewards Premier Credit Card
  • IHG One Rewards Premier Business Credit Card
  • Aeroplan® Credit Card
  • Southwest® Rapid Rewards® Performance Business Credit Card
  • J.P. Morgan Reserve Card

Global Entry 2

Global Entry has saved me hours and hours of time that would have been spent waiting to speak with Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agents when returning to the United States. Instead, I use a kiosk and breeze through customs and immigration as a trusted traveler. The service is available at 77 airports, with the majority in the United States, as well as 15 preclearance facilities in the following locations:

  • Abu Dhabi’s Zayed International Airport (AUH)
  • Aruba’s Queen Beatrix International Airport (AUA)
  • Bermuda’s L.F. Wade International Airport (BDA)
  • Calgary International Airport (YYC)
  • Dublin Airport (DUB)
  • Edmonton International Airport (YEG)
  • Halifax Stanfield International Airport (YHZ)
  • Montréal-Trudeau International Airport (YUL)
  • Nassau’s Lynden Pindling International Airport (NAS)
  • Ottawa/Macdonald-Cartier International Airport (YOW)
  • Shannon Airport (SNN)
  • Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ)
  • Vancouver International Airport (YVR)
  • Victoria International Airport (YYJ)
  • Winnipeg James Armstrong Richardson International Airport (YWG)

Anthony’s Take: It’s great to see Chase follow Citi and increase the reimbursement amount for this fee. Your move, American Express. I think we’ll see that announcement in the near term.
