I’ve held the Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card since it launched and it continues to have a home in my wallet for its generous perks. Here are five reasons why I carry this great travel card.
5. Point-Transfer Partners
Capital One has a great list of transfer partners. You can turn your Capital One miles into these airline and hotel currencies on a 1:1 basis:
Airlines
- Aeromexico, Air Canada, Air France, Avianca, British Airways, Cathay Pacific, Emirates, Etihad, Finnair, KLM, Qantas, Singapore Airlines, TAP Air Portugal, Turkish Airlines, Virgin Atlantic
Hotels
- Choice Hotels, Wyndham
Capital One miles also transfer to EVA Air at a 2:1.5 ratio and to Accor at a 2:1 ratio.
4. 2x Earnings
The Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card earns 2x miles per $1 on every purchase. This is in addition to the 10x miles earned for booking hotels and rental cars through Capital One Travel and 5x miles on flights and vacation rentals booked through Capital One Travel.
3. Global Entry/TSA PreCheck® Fee Reimbursement
The card offers up to a $120 statement credit on TSA PreCheck® or Global Entry. The cost of Global Entry increased for the first time in 15 years. US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announced in April that it would be increasing the fees on three Trusted Traveler Programs (TTP). Capital One has responded by bumping up the amount it covers.
2. Lounge Access
Capital One currently operates three airport lounges at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) (review here), Denver International Airport (DEN), and Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD). The lounges began opening in 2021 and really introduced grab-and-go food as a concept (in addition to offering a buffet, bar, and everything else you’d want in a lounge). Las Vegas Harry Reid International Airport (LAS) is next and I can’t wait to check it out. The card also comes with a Priority Pass Select membership, which opens the doors to many more lounges globally.

The Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card currently offers a welcome offer of 75,000 bonus miles when you spend $4,000 on purchases within the first three months from account opening. This is worth $750 in travel.
