Spirit Airlines is having its “Black & Yellow” Friday Sale today. It offers fares starting at $25 one way fares as well as 2x Free Spirit® Status Qualifying Points (SQPs) for flights through February 28th.
Today is Black Friday and just about every company that sells anything is having a sale. Spirit Airlines, which already is often the most inexpensive way to fly, has lowered fares even more with some starting as low as $25 one way. While these are only valid for Spirit’s lowest fare class (known as Go), they offer a chance to travel cheaper than a bus ticket. Just note that they don’t include seats, bags, etc.
What I find more interesting is the opportunity to earn double Free Spirit® Status Qualifying Points (SQPs). I have held Gold status for the past two years and am thinking about an end of year push to renew it again. Flights booked today through December 1st are eligible to earn 2x the SQPs for flights through February 28th.
Rana Ghosh, Senior Vice President and Chief Transformation Officer at Spirit Airlines, said:
There’s no better time than the holidays to offer our Guests great value so they can connect with the people and places that matter most. Spirit’s Black & Yellow Friday helps travelers lock in the major savings they’re looking for and start the new year with fun travel plans.”
More details on all of the promos being offered can be found here. Additional deals will be released throughout the weekend and into Cyber Monday and Travel Tuesday.
Anthony’s Take: If you are planning any travel over the next few months, take a peek to see if there is a discounted rate on the routes you’re looking to fly. It might be worth booking even if it’s not on sale if you’re working towards status.
