It’s almost 2026. The year is coming to a close today and I’m looking back on some of my travel memories from 2025. While I flew more than I did in 2024, I’m still nowhere near my pre-pandemic flying levels (I used to average 300,000 miles per year). I flew 171,036 butt-in-seat miles across 174 flights. This brought me to 44 airports in 14 countries (on 17 airlines). I’m hoping for even more in 2026!

Here is my flying breakdown for 2025:

  • Total Flights: 174
  • Total Miles Flown: 171,036
  • Total Countries: 14, including Austria, The Bahamas, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Germany, Hong Kong (SAR), Italy, Mexico, Montenegro, South Korea, Sweden, Switzerland, and United Kingdom
  • New Countries: 1 (Montenegro)
  • Total Airports: 45, including TPA, EWR, IAD, DCA, ORD, MEX, IAH, DFW, BOS, PVD, MYR, LAS, MSP, SFO, LAX, PHL, ATL, DEN, SJC, CLT, YYZ, FRA, FCO, TGD, VIE, ZRH, MIA, LGA, CVG, GGT, DTW, CMH, BRU, LIN, MXP, MUC, JFK, CLE, MKE, SLC, LHR, CPH, SDF, ICN, HKG
  • New Airports: 4
  • Total Airlines: 17, including Aeromexico, Air Canada, Air Dolomiti, Air Montenegro, American Airlines, Austrian Airlines, Breeze Airways, British Airways, Brussels Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Korean Air, Lufthansa, SAS, Spirit Airlines, SWISS, United Airlines, and WestJet

2025 Flying Highlights

This year once again saw lots of domestic flying on mostly short hops.

LH MUC-JFK 5

Lufthansa First Class (MUC to JFK)

After having all of our belongings stolen in Lake Como, we changed our plans and headed back to the United States. I needed something last minute and was lucky to find two seats redeemable with United MileagePlus miles to get us home. Lufthansa First Class is always a treat. This was my 10th transatlantic flight experiencing Lufthansa’s best.

Delta One

Delta One® (ATL to ICN)

This flight just occurred last night. From the suite to the service and the food that blows United’s Polaris® out of the water, this was a great flight. I rarely (if ever) sleep on planes and I was asleep for many hours on this one. The biggest miss here is the Wi-Fi. It does not work over the Pacific Ocean. Delta is said to be fixing this next year. The full review of the flight can be found here.

AA ORD to DFW 5

American Airlines Boeing 787-9 Flagship Suites (ORD to DFW)

I got to fly American’s brand new 787-9 Flagship Suites between Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD) and Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) by chance shortly after these new aircraft entered service. I loved the Flagship Suites and can’t wait to try them again on a longer flight.

Anthony’s Take: I’m looking forward to lots more flying in 2026. I already have flights booked with United Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Arajet, and Breeze Airways with lots of planning still to do. Stay tuned for more reviews and my thoughts along the way next year.
