Qatar Airways flight QR17 from Doha’s Hamad International Airport (DOH) to Dublin Airport (DUB) hit turbulence this morning. Eight passengers and six crew members were injured with several needing medical attention at a hospital. Storms over Türkiye caused the bumpy ride.

Passengers in the video above say that the turbulence hit suddenly and the seatbelt signs were off when the injuries occurred. The flight reached Dublin Airport (DUB) and emergency crews met the three-year-old Boeing 787-9.
Qatar Airways released the following statement:
Qatar Airways can confirm that flight QR017, a Boeing B787-9 from Doha to Dublin has landed safely. A small number of passengers and crew sustained minor injuries in flight and are now receiving medical attention. The matter is now subject to an internal investigation. The nature of the passengers’ injuries were not disclosed, but it seems like none were life threatening like the incident on a Singapore Airlines flight earlier this week. One died and more than 70 others were injured during that terrifying bout of turbulence. This has led to Singapore Airlines changing its policies around cabin service being suspended when the seatbelt light is illuminated.
Anthony’s Take: Turbulence can be scary, but the best advice is to stay buckled up at all times when seated. This minimizes your risk as it can come on at any time and without warning.
