Virgin Atlantic took to the skies for the first time on June 22, 1984 with its inaugural flight between London Gatwick Airport (LGW) and Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR). The flight cost only £99. Last month, I wrote about how the airline is celebrating its 40th birthday throughout the month of June with treats and surprises for passengers. Now, Virgin is adding to the celebration with discounts on flights in all of its cabins.

The promotion starts today and runs through Monday, June 24th (which is the Virgin Atlantic and my birthday weekend).

  • Passengers booking in Economy Classic & Delight can save up to £99
  • Those booking in Premium will save £199 and those booking in Upper Class can save £299

All flights need to depart the UK and you need to enter the code FORTY when checking out to receive the discount. Virgin Atlantic Holidays is also celebrating by offering savings of up to £200 available on holidays or flight & hotel packages on all destinations when departing from the UK. This offer gives customers a £25 per person automatic savings, plus by using the promo code BIRTHDAY, passengers can take an additional £100 off when spending a minimum of £3000.

Anthony’s Take: Happy 40th Virgin Atlantic. If you’re looking to book flights departing the UK, use the code above and take advantage of these savings.
