On a recent flight Delta Air Lines flight between Tampa International Airport (TPA) and New York LaGuardia Airport (LGA), I decided to go with something different and preordered the Margherita Pizza. This option is only available when ordered in advance.

Pizza Delta 1

The Margherita Pizza was served with a green salad and a packaged Bell’s Cookies Chocolate Chip Cookie. The pizza was puffy and the tomatoes stewed. It was not what I was expecting for a Margherita Pizza. While it was okay, I would not seek it out again. I would choose the Beef Lasagna between the two (and I found that one a little odd as well).

Delta Cookies

The Bell’s Cookies Chocolate Chip Cookie is cheap for First Class. Dessert should be something better than a packaged cookie. United recently started serving Magnolia Bakery Banana Pudding. Delta should look for a similar partnership (like it has for its recently announced Shake Shack burgers).

I tasted Delta’s Pepperoni Pizza back in June and it was completely different and much better.

Anthony’s Take: I found this meal to be one of the poorer choices that Delta serves. Pizza on an airplane is tough, but this was not exactly what I would call “pizza.”
