Bilt Rewards continues to add partnerships in travel, dining, fitness studios, and now retail. I’ve been a big fan of the Bilt Mastercard® for some time and use it to earn points when I pay my rent in Florida. Now, Bilt Rewards has announced a partnership with Walgreens where you can use your FSA/HSA and earn bonus points on every purchase, including prescriptions.

This is more than just bonus points. The new partnership makes it so you don’t need to carry separate FSA or HSA cards. It removes the guesswork in identifying eligible items and addresses the approximately $4 billion in FSA dollars lost annually due to non-use. Here are the details:

  • Earn 2x Bilt points per $1 spent on Walgreens-branded items
  • Earn 1x Bilt points per $1 spent on all other eligible purchases
  • Earn 100 bonus Bilt points on prescription refills
  • Automatic FSA/HSA Savings: Members can shop at Walgreens using any linked debit or credit card in their Bilt account. Bilt’s system automatically identifies FSA or HSA eligible items and offers a one-click solution to apply benefits.
  • Complimentary Photo Prints: Bilt members will soon have access to free photo prints at their neighborhood Walgreens pharmacy. Details will be coming in the future.

Ankur Jain, CEO of Bilt Rewards, said:

Our mission has always been to add value to our members’ daily lives within their local communities. By partnering with Walgreens and introducing automatic FSA and HSA savings, we’re not just expanding our rewards program – we’re simplifying healthcare expenses for millions of Americans. This is a significant step in our journey to become the nation’s leading loyalty program for your home and neighborhood.”

This new Walgreens partnership complements Bilt’s existing deals with over 21,000 restaurants, 3,500 fitness studios, and rideshare service, Lyft. Bilt serves over 4.5 million residential homes across the country.

Anthony’s Take: I’m a CVS guy, but this partnership is interesting in that it’s more than just bonus points. Making FSA/HSA inclusions easier is huge for folks that have this benefit, but don’t fully use it.
