American Express issues multiple cards that are co-branded with Hilton. Several of these cards currently have inflated welcome bonuses including lots of points and free nights. The offers only last for a short time. If you’re a Hilton loyalist without one of these cards it might be time to apply.
Hilton Honors American Express Card
The Hilton Honors American Express Card is a card with no annual fee and no foreign transaction fees. It offers 7x Hilton Honors bonus points for each $1 of eligible purchases charged on your card directly with hotels and resorts within the Hilton portfolio. Plus, 5x points per $1 on purchases at restaurants, supermarkets, and gas stations in the United States as well as 3x points per $1 for all other eligible purchases. Other benefits include complimentary Hilton Honors™ Silver status and the ability to upgrade to Hilton Honors™ Gold status if you spend $20,000 or more on the card. For a limited time, new cardholders can earn 70,000 Hilton Honors bonus points plus a Free Night Reward after you spend $2,000 in purchases on the Hilton Honors American Express Card in your first six months of card membership. Apply here.
Hilton Honors American Express Surpass® Card
The Hilton Honors American Express Surpass® Card has a $150 annual fee, but benefits that easily justify the cost. It offers no foreign transaction fees when traveling abroad. Cardholders earn 12x Hilton Honors bonus points for each $1 of eligible purchases charged on your card directly with hotels and resorts within the Hilton portfolio. Plus, 6x points per $1 on purchases at restaurants, supermarkets, and gas stations in the United States as well as 4x points per $1 spent on US online retail purchases and 3x points per $1 for all other eligible purchases. Other benefits include complimentary Hilton Honors™ Gold status and the ability to upgrade to Hilton Honors™ Diamond status if you spend $40,000 or more on the card. You can also earn a Free Night Reward from Hilton Honors™ after you spend $15,000 on eligible purchases on your card in a calendar year. For a limited time, new cardholders can earn 130,000 Hilton Honors bonus points plus a Free Night Reward after you spend $3,000 in purchases on the Hilton Honors American Express Surpass® Card in your first six months of Card Membership. Apply here.
Anthony’s Take: Either of these cards is a good choice if you find yourself staying at Hilton Hotels. These welcome bonuses are great, but won’t last long. The bonus points and free nights are among the best offers ever for these cards.
