Delta and American Express offer multiple cards for all types of flyers. Now is a great time to pick up one of these co-branded cards as the welcome bonuses are about as large as they get.

Here are the details for several of American Express and Delta’s personal card offerings:

The Delta SkyMiles® Gold American Express Card

This is the entry-level Delta card with $0 intro annual fee for the first year, then $150 (see rates and fees). It offers the following benefits:

• Welcome Bonus: 80,000 SkyMiles after $3,000 in purchases in the first six months
• 2x miles per $1 spent on Delta Air Lines, at restaurants worldwide, including takeout and delivery in the US and at US supermarkets

The Delta SkyMiles® Platinum American Express Card

This is the best card for regular Delta flyers and the card I hold. Its annual fee is $350 (see rates and fees) and it offers:

• Welcome Bonus: 90,000 SkyMiles after $4,000 in purchases in the first six months
• 3x miles per $1 spent on Delta Air Lines and hotels (booked directly through the hotel)
• 2x miles per $1 spent at restaurants worldwide and at U.S. supermarkets
• 1x mile per $1 spent on all other eligible purchases
• Receive $2,500 Medallion® Qualification Dollars with MQD Headstart each Medallion Qualification Year and earn $1 MQD for each $20 in purchases on your Delta SkyMiles® Platinum American Express Card with MQD boost to get closer to Status next Medallion Year.
• A domestic Main Cabin round-trip companion certificate upon renewal of your card (annually)

Anthony’s Take: I currently hold the Delta SkyMiles® Platinum American Express Card. I like that I get 20% back on in-flight purchases and if I did not currently have the card, I would apply based on the bonus offered.
