Delta announced its Sync Exclusives Inflight Entertainment Platform at CES this past January. This first-of-its-kind platform will soon customize the onboard experience for customers on flights equipped with free Wi-Fi (presented by T-Mobile). It will bring together exclusive content, access, and offers for passengers as they connect from their personal devices in flight.
Ranjan Goswami, Delta’s SVP of Customer Experience Design, commented:
Delta Sync Exclusives is an entirely new platform for entertainment and discovery designed to elevate the experience for every customer. Customers deserve a journey that feels seamlessly fit for them, and that means delivering meaningful, personalized and relevant touch points in compelling new ways.”
Delta began testing its Sync Exclusives in late April on select domestic flights. It plans to introduce it across 540 aircraft by the end of July. By the end of 2023, more than 700 domestic mainline aircraft will upgrade to Delta’s new free Wi-Fi and support Delta Sync Exclusives. The entire global fleet will be enabled by the end of 2024.
The platform will have two main sections: My Exclusives and My Trip.
My Exclusives
My Exclusives will offer a curated set of experiences, entertainment, and exclusive offers. This will include access to a free trial to Paramount+. Games from The New York Times including word, number, and logic puzzles like Wordle, Sudoku, Mini Crossword, and more will also be included. Most interesting (and an area with lots of potential for customization) are the exclusive offers from T-Mobile, American Express, and other Delta partners.
My Trip
My Trip will help you keep track of your current itinerary, make plans for your destination, and plan your next trip. Reserve a table with Resy and check out specially curated dining guides on select routes. Read travel info and learn about hidden wonders from Atlas Obscura. Delta self-service tools will also be available for making travel changes and booking future trips.
Delta plans to continue to add partners and offers as the platform evolves.
Anthony’s Take: Customization and personalization can be more than buzzwords when handled properly. Delta seems to be off to a good start with this platform and I look forward to trying it out in the future.
