During a recent connection in Atlanta, I had around an hour to check out the Sky Club® in Terminal A. This is the other lounge in this terminal (I have already reviewed the one by Gate A17). This lounge is a little tricky to find as you need to first head up an escalator and feel like you’re entering P.F. Chang’s. Head left at the top of the escalator and you’ll find the Sky Club®. This one is fairly large with lots of natural light on the second floor (yes, it’s two floors).
The entrance to the lounge is found to the left of the escalator and P.F. Chang’s.
Access
Access is granted to passengers with memberships (purchased annually), one-time pass holders (earned from the co-branded American Express cards), Delta One®, SkyTeam premium cabin passengers, SkyTeam Elite Plus when flying internationally in premium cabins, the Centurion® and the Platinum Card® from American Express holders, Delta SkyMiles® Reserve American Express Card holders, WestJet business class passengers, and WestJet Rewards Platinum and Gold Elite. Allowed guests vary by access type. A same-day boarding pass is required to enter the Delta Sky Club®.
Anthony’s Take: This Sky Club® at ATL is one of my favorites as I love all of the natural light on the second floor. Its amenities include a snack bar on the main level, an upstairs buffet, two full bars, restrooms, and free Wi-Fi. When I’m in Terminal A, I head here.
When entering the lounge, there was an agent and a few kiosks to check credentials and grant access.
Straight ahead is the lower level of the lounge.
There is a small, full bar here.
Here, you’ll also find a small buffet with cold cuts, cheese, and soup.
There is a self-serve soda fountain.
Next to the soda fountain, you’ll find an espresso machine and Bevi for sparkling water.
There is self-serve iced tea and lemonade along with coffee condiments.
Finally, there are brewed coffee urns (cleverly built into the wall).
An elevator and stairs to the right of the entrance lead up to the second floor of the Sky Club®.
Immediately upon exiting the elevator, you’ll find some magazines and a departures board.
The upstairs level is bright and open with huge skylights filling the main room.
Bars
In addition to the small bar downstairs, you’ll find a large bar on the left side upstairs. It offers all of the standard spirits, wine, and beer that Delta provides complimentary as well as some premium options for purchase.
In this main room, you’ll find another coffee bar.
You’ll also find lemonade, water, and iced tea.
Food
Lunch/dinner was being served during my visit. The main buffet has soups, salads, sandwiches, cold cuts, cheeses, and several hot dishes.
The buffet was continuously being cleaned and refilled. Servers were also very attentive around the lounge as they quickly collected used dishes and cleaned tables.
Cold cuts, cheese, and veggies
Pesto chicken sliders, chips, and pickles (the sandwiches were never replenished while I was there, but the rest of the food was continuously being refilled).
German potato salad, Mediterranean kale salad, and farro salad
Harissa roasted cauliflower
Cavatelli with pesto cream sauce (clearly not cavatelli, but rigatoni)
Braised Beef with vegetables
Red lentil vegetable and beef chili were the soups of the day.
A selection of condiments were also available.
There is a small selection of desserts next to the bar. The raspberry cookies were so good.
Seating & Decor
There is tons of seating in this Sky Club®. I’m not sure if it was the change in entrance requirements or just slow, but the lounge felt spacious and empty. A huge banquette runs through the middle of the upstairs. There are lots of tables, high tops, and desks around the main room and in a few rooms off of it. There was not much in the way of art, but the decor was bright and inviting.
Tables and high tops were near the bar and buffet.
Other seating areas were off of the main room.
There were also individual cubicle/desks for working.
Amenities
This Sky Club® offers free Wi-Fi, restrooms, and the food and beverages mentioned above.
Overall Impression:
This Delta Sky Club® at ATL is large and offers a bright, comfortable space to work or relax. It might be my favorite at ATL (at least in Terminal A).
Anthony’s Credit Card Pick: I love the lounges where The Platinum Card® from American Express grants me access. It has had a prominent place in my wallet for many years now. While it does have an annual fee of $695, it provides many travel benefits and will always be my go-to for lounge access (both Delta Sky Clubs® and Centurion Lounges) and booking airfare from the airlines to earn 5x points (up to $500,000 per calendar year).
